The Primal Integration Programme

The Primal Integration Programme is directed by Juliana Brown and Richard Mowbray, practitioners of Primal Integration since 1979. We are co-authors of “Primal Integration” in Innovative Therapy – A Handbook (OUP, 1994) and “Visionary Deep Personal Growth” in What’s the Good of Counselling & Psychotherapy? (Sage, 2002). For 44 years we were also members of the Open Centre, one of the UK's longest established growth centres, up until its closure in December 2023.
The work we offer is a synthesis that we have evolved since our training with Bill Swartley, the original developer of Primal Integration and founder of the International Primal Association. Other major influences include Frank Lake, a British psychiatrist and pioneer of pre- and peri-natal psychology with whom we worked & trained in the last few years of his life, Francis Mott's configurational psychology, and the formative work of Stanley Keleman.
It’s not about going backwards - it’s about allowing the self that is held back to come forwards
